Super Easy Crispy Banana Fritters | Goreng Pisang Recipe 香脆炸香蕉 Singapore / Malaysian Street Food
Thinking of making some snacks for your loved ones? Try these super crispy banana fritters. In Singapore, this is commonly known as Goreng Pisang - which literally means Fried Banana in Malay language. There are two types of banana fritter batter available in Singapore. One is this traditional type and the other is the light and airy type. Personally we prefer the traditional batter as it makes the banana fritters more crunchy. If you're a fellow Singaporean too, let us know which type you prefer. :)
See the ingredient list below for your easy reference.
We would like to give special thanks to Shogun by La Gourmet for letting us try out their high quality non-stick pan in the video respectively. If you like to buy Shogun by La Gourmet pots and pans, you can go to any of the major departmental stores in Singapore such as Isetan, Robinsons, Takashimaya, BHG, OG, Metro or Tangs. These two brands are also available in most major departmental stores in Malaysia. La Gourmet products are also sold in Philippines and Indonesia.

Banana Fritters / Pisang Goreng Recipe (With Tips)
First of all,who doesn't like banana? I know i do... a lot.
Those day when i was a kid, banana was so cheap and at times we got our banana for free from neighbours who own a banana tree.
I just love those old days when most of the things were free or just grew wildly.
Normally, in the late afternoon or evening the banana fritter's vendor will start selling their banana fritters. And i was one of those kids who queue to buy banana fritters and love to eat one.
For me banana fritters should taste crunchy, sweet and little bit of saltiness to balance up the sweetness. So, i tried few recipe to make a good banana fritters.
But, end up i still prefer the cheat version, by using Adabi banana fritters flour. It just taste better.
So, in Malaysia this Adabi Banana Fritter flour is easy to access but in other country i'm just not sure. May be you can try with Tempura flour or any other banana fritter flour brand.
But, i just want to give some heads up on the tips of getting the right Banana Fritters. So, check out my video for more tips.
Happy Cooking!

Chinese - Style Ninja Fried Banana & More
One of the most sought-after Malaysian street food is undoubtedly the goreng pisang or fried banana. Manaweblife takes a closer view at this delicacy at a local stall operated by a Chinese in the interesting town of Jenjarom.. Interestingly, take a look at the classic looking special knife that this banana chef uses. It's special because it has been handed down through two generations and surely it's ideal for this purpose. Just like a Ninja he slices the banana into perfect slices without mistakes. Noticed the thickness is maintained throughout. Then the slices are dipped into the batter, with a formula or mix that he inherited from his mother, before being put into the boiling pot of oil. What results is a crispy and golden fried banana shaped like a Samurai sword. Inside the crust is a rich golden slice of banana ready for you to savour. Besides this street favourite the stall also serves the Chinese kuih bakul” , or lien kou , all hand-made right here with their special batter mix. This was once a Chinese New Year season offering but is now an all-season favourite. There's also the crispy cake look tau or green bean cake, another old favourite.
Check out the details of this place and join the queue for a tempting traditional taste.

Goreng Pisang - 炸香蕉
Recipe at:
A classic Malay snack made with very basic ingredients. While it looks simple enough, it took us some tries to get the texture right.
We used pisang raja as it has both the right amount of firmness and sweetness. For the batter, we used added ammonia powder which gives the crust a crisp beehive-ish texture and allows it to stay CRISPY~
This we believe is what contributes to a good goreng pisang!

Crunchy Banana Fritters|Goreng Pisang Rangup|Crispy Banana Fritter|Cara Membuat Pisang Goreng Crispy
Hey guys,
I love banana fritters or Pisang Goreng so much. I used to get my Pisang Goreng fix from the street vendors. But, now since I have this secret recipe for making my crispy batter. I'm no longer obliged to get it from the street.
Don't get me wrong.
There are a lot of readymade banana fritters powder.
I have an old video on Banana Fritters that received quite of the number of view on youtube. But, I'm using a readymade Adabi powder. It was delicious too.
However, the satisfaction of making your own from mixing a few ingredients just make it so much fun. It's like chemical class all over again.
I want to make Pisang Goreng batter more universal, where you can quickly excess all the ingredients from any part of the world.
So, this is for you; I'm dedicating this to you if you're looking for crispy and crunchy banana fritters.
Hope you'll enjoy my recipe.

Fried Banana Balls | Cekodok Pisang | Kuih Kodok | Cucur Pisang [Nyonya Cooking]
FULL RECIPE:
'Cekodok pisang' is a popular street food snack. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, it is made using overripe bananas. These banana balls are perfect for breakfast or tea time.
Cekodok pisang is one of the many types of kuih in Malaysia. It is made using overripe bananas for its natural sweetness. Usually eaten during breakfast or as a tea time snack, it goes well with a cup of tea or coffee.
Tips to shape fried banana balls
While attempting the recipe, you will realized that it is difficult to mould the dough as it is rather soft and gooey. My tip would be as mentioned in the video. Therein, I used two metal spoons. The spoon which is used to shape the banana balls has to be dipped into the hot oil. Besides that, you need to allow the dough to sink and cook for about 5 seconds to create a crust first. Then, use the spoon which was dipped into the oil to gently remove the dough from sticking to the pot.

【Vegan Recipe】Fried Banana with special sauce 炸香蕉糕 Pisang Goreng::Malaysian style::#25
Fried Banana is one of our most common find street food and you can find various banana species that can made into this delicious snacks. And each of them are tasteful.
I like this not over ripen banana (Pisang Nipah) most, you will have the mixture of sweet and a tiny of sour and when you keep it till ripen totally, it is so sweet.
For those who don't like the raw banana, this will be a twist of your perception towards banana.

How to make Toffee Banana (Chinese)
Ingredients
50 g self-raising flour
25 g cornflour, plus extra for dusting
90 ml cold water
vegetable oil, for deep-frying
2 bananas, thickly sliced diagonally
120 g white sugar
black and white sesame seeds, for sprinkling
ice-cream, to serve
Preparation
Level of difficulty: easy
Season: All year round
To make the batter, whisk together the self-raising flour and cornflour, then add the water and mix until smooth. Stir in 1 tsp of vegetable oil.
Fill a wok or deep-fryer one-third full of vegetable oil and heat to 190°C. Toss the banana slices in the extra cornflour to lightly coat. Using a bamboo skewer, dip each banana slice in the batter. Cook in the hot oil, in batches, until golden and crisp. Drain on paper towel.
Place the sugar in a large, heavy- based frying pan over medium heat and cook, shaking the pan occasionally, until a caramel forms. Remove from the heat, then working quickly and one at a time, add the fried banana to the caramel and turn to coat. Drop into a large bowl of iced water to “set” the caramel. Drain immediately, then sprinkle with black and white sesame seeds. Serve with ice-cream.
