Making Turmeric Wine Tonic
12 Health Benefits of Turmeric:

Turmeric Wine Tonic Recipe:
10 oz grain alcohol or vodka
10 oz port wine
12 teaspoons turmeric powder
5 teaspoons cinnamon powder
4 teaspoons cracked black pepper
2 teaspoons piper logum
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
Combine all ingredients in a jar except port. Attach lid and shake well. Store for 24 hours. After 24 hours, add port and shake. Tonic is ready for use as is, or you can strain it. Take up to 1/2 oz with evening meal.

Pairing Wine with Kauai Food - Starfruit, Turmeric, Goat Cheese with Sancerre by Hippolyte Reverdy
Princeville Wine Market's Daniel Braun teams up with Grow Culture's Collin Darrell to pair wine with local foods. Today's food: celery, a few different types of sprouts. We're going to do a salad. Take the starfruit and the turmeric to make a vinaigrette, and then feature some of our fresh local goat's cheese.
Daniel has recommended Hippolyte Reverdy, Sancerre (Loire, France) 2011 because This is also a very mineral driven wine, it's all about that flintiness. It actually has a little bit of the starfruit character that I think is going to go well with the fruit in this dish. It's also a classic pairing with goat cheese as well.
